The Pungo is an excellent recreational kayak. IT is not pure touring nor is it a white wate boat. It's for lazy rivers with a little action.

You get a lot of value for the money with a Pungo. The design will give you good tracking but has enough traditional kayak tippiness to initiate you for more challenging boats you might try or buy at a later time. The large cockpit is great for recreational and fishing uses... even large enough for a very small passenger.

My friend just bought a Pungo for fishing, And he loves it . This is his first Kayak . He likes the large cockpit it offers. I myself have a Walden sport .
