On our little local newsgroup, that's a bit far from away. A little closer to home (since the outlet of the Great LAkes goes by here, is can give us a link to another dangerous river. But if you want to talk about the most dangerous river in the central part of America I think it is the Chicago River. It is polluted itself, but as I understand it the real danger is much worse. I may be wrong, but because of its canals, it can link the ecosystems of the Great Lakes with the Mississippi. Very dangerous thing to tamper with drainage systems on that scale. There was a plan a few years ago to actually allow navigation across that gap. THAT is a dangerous river.
