Does anyone know which supplier of topo maps on CD Rom ( Quo Vadis, Softmap or Fugawi) as listed by Federal Publications Inc.(http://www.fedpubs.com/mpchrt/maps/topocd.htm )has the best or most cost efficient product ? They all seem like good deals, but prices vary considerably.

Quo Vadis are quite a bit cheaper per map than Fugawi, and have a far greater coverage of Ontario and Quebec. Both of these are straightforward scans of 1:50 000 and 1:250 000 scale Canadian Topos, and can be viewed with their own and most other mapping software that takes scanned raster images, as well as straight graphics viewers (QV maps are in gif format).

Softmap, on the other hand, is a proprietary format that can only be viewed with their software. It does have some advantages: low in price and the coverage is 'seamless' (whereas the others are not). It also contains a lot of additional data of interest to hunters and fishers.
