I own a Spirit Sail www.spiritsail.com (purchased from the company owner in B.C. May 2001) and it works quite fine. I have mine on suction cups so I can use it on different kayaks. If the wind gets too strong, then the mast is flexible enough to spill excess wind, thus protecting boat/paddler. The deck attachment can hold the sail, fishing rod, or warning light (of course, not all at the same time). A visit to the web site offers more information....

Ah! That's what I was thinking of.

I wish I could remember where I was at the time, but I also saw a product in a store where I am pretty sure the sail base could be attached to the rigging of a kayak.

Very interesting, thanks!
