Sea kayaking and in fact any sort of kayaking is something that I do for the great feeling that I have during the time I’m on the water and after.
I started thinking about the reasons after reading the question on Cailean’s Blog.
For me it is a whole experience of balance, cleaning and connecting with the air, the sea, the world, the kayak and most of all me.
Sometimes in the daily lives I realized that I forgot to breathe and really process everything that comes my way, going out with the kayak alone to a quiet river or to the sea it the best possible way for me to really ground myself again.
After such days I feel at peace and happy for the entire week and this is the reason that I go sea kayaking.

I wish i have the luxury as you too to nurture your soul… but i substitute your sport with a coffee in cafe or an exercise in the gym. it’s really not the same, but w/ my limited space and time, it’s what i do for now. Keep up curing and meditating!
:-) thank you. I hope you find the time soon.
I can totally relate to this feeling you describe. The connection with the world around us and the only sound you hear is the swish of the paddle passing through the water. That’s the reason I pick the less traveled routes so I get away from the ‘mechanized” boat and related noises. The picture you have taken is beautiful – being there must have been special!
