I accidentally melted an area of about 3 inches in diameter in the center of the bottom of my kayak. Think of a kayak hanging from a garage ceiling and a 300 watt lamp standing under it and only 4 inches from the bottom of the kayak. The heat melted the plastic, forming a blob hanging down about an inch or so. There was no hole created.
I was able to remelt the blob with a flat iron to smooth out the bottom but now I am concerned about the strength of the area. Is there any material that I can apply to the bottom that will adhere to the plastic and reinforce the "wound"?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
