Is everyone in this group just a bunch of rodeo clowns or what? I own a 14 foot Perception Swing (sit-on-top). Dont laugh, it serves my purpose perfectly. I use it for relaxing days flyfishing for gills on the local lakes here in Michigan. I'd appreciate anyone else's views on utilizing their boat(s) for more things than swinging through eddies-as much fun as that CAN be. Waiting for spring, Morgan in Kalamazoo

I own a Dimension River Runner R5, and I think it's just great! I have a 16' canoe, but this kayak really moves, and I don't need a partner to go out and explore, plus it's faster, and no problem on windy days. I just got it this year, I've yet to master the Eskimo roll, but definitely will in the new year, and will explore more than I have already.

Glenn Fergusson of Ottawa Valley Kayak is local outfitter for flat water paddling, tripping, and Greenland-style instruction. He also organizes trips to warmer climates when our weather is frigid. Check him out at www.ottawavalleykayak.com.
