Does anyone out there have any time paddling in the Potomac or Chesapeake Bay. I'm planning a five day trip in May of '09 from DC to Virginia Beach and would love to hear from people who have experience on the lower Potomac and Bay. So far I've only paddled in the Occoquan River and Potomac around Mason Neck Park and Belmont Bay. Any information is apppreciated.

Good luck in finding people having experience on those waters, Johnrbour (myself, I live thousands of miles away from it so can't be of much help, unfortunately)

What areas do you kayak in mostly? Perhaps you might have a similar experience from rivers and bays out west?

Since I never have kayaked there I am unfortunately unable to compare, but I kayak at the coast of Israel (sea kayaking) and have done some rivers here but not all that 'wild', unfortunately
