Hi all
My husband and I are going to start doing week long Paddles, that will not necessarily bring us by towns or places we can restock with food. Since we haven't done more than a two day trip before, I was wondering how you plan your meals for a trip like this.
Looking forward to your answers

one way to do it would be to buy freeze dryed backpacking foods for the later days of the trip, some of them are quite tasty, since they are light wt you can pack plenty.

Here is a spreadsheet in PDF format that might help organize your planning thoughts.

If you are going to be where critters like to break into your food cache (bears an other such things) you may want to set up your kitchen and store your food stuffs a fair distance from your camp site.

For longer distances you may want to pack in such a way that what you use first is closest to the hatch cover. And what you use last is further from the hatch cover. That way you do not have to unpack everything to get at what you need at the moment. Unless there are bears and such things, then you want to get all food stuffs as far away from where you are sleeping as is practical.

I'd suggest trying to explore "one Pot" types of meals. just some thoughts.
