I am trying to establish the age ( vintage)of my wood and canvas canoe. The plate information indicates a Peterborough craft model 44 serial 99488. It is 16 ft with !/2 round oak ribs and cedarstrip planking.

Lindsay; I would appreciate hearing suggested values if you get any, I have several old canoes and would appreciate the info. Sincerely Harold Hodder

My dad had his '62 Old Town restored a few years back by a man named Tom Barrett with 'Classic Canoes'. Mr. Barrett may be able to help you with the age of your canoe. He is located out of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his phone number in 1998 was (919) 870-8758.
