I drove over the Island Lodge bridge doing Meals on Wheels today and could not believe the water level and flow on the Ottawa River, presumably caused by melting snow, but it seemed quite extraordinary. The current was so strong there were small waves in places where I've never seen them before, even in spring. There is some ice along the shoreline creating a bit of a narrows, but it was still an impressive show in a location that is normally quite placid.

Looks great. I'm looking for a spot to launch for a paddle tomorrow. The trick is finding a place to easily cross or miss the margin of ice.
