Good advice. Go to a store where they are knowledgeable about such equipment, ask lots of questions, and try it out. The Walmart flashlight is probably intended for someone walking from the bathroom to their camper at the trailer park

Sounds like a Pelican Light copied and not copied right. I have a number of Pelican lights and they are all fine, Costly, but fine. Canadian tire sells a simple little 2 D cell light that we use a fair bit , It holds out well. I slap one on my deck and one in the bag to make sure I have a light. I went ashore last year with 5 foot breakers. One cleaned off my deck. Light, Water Bottle, pump, my nice neoprene hat on my head and a candy bar were flushed from my boat. I made it ashore without incident, A good landing except a big wave cought up with my little wave that I was following in. Everything turned up except the flashlight $ 8.00 at Canadian Tire. The next morning I was getting my tent down and checked out the beach. Rattling around in the surf was my cheap $8.00 flashlight. It still works. Some of the LED lights are good too. I can't afford them yet. Good luck

Geez, if you need some money tell Canadian Tire this story, they'll have you in a commercial in no time!
