Hi Greg, I have a Current Designs (Pacific Kayaks pty ltd) 'Crosswind' double sea kayak, and have put in many sea miles along the Queensland, Australia coast with it. I couldn't be happier. It's poly, and given the climate here, I prefer it to glass for durability. I put a couple of nasty scores in it on some submerged oyster banks a while ago, and $35 and some RF welding later it was as good as new, with no messy mucking about with glassing etc. I can highly recommend the Current Designs kayak, it takes a deckbag sail with no problem, and has more gear storage than you will likely ever need, it's nice and beamy, and handles chop and swells beautifully. It doesn't tend to broach in the surf either. It has a useful nav table slot in the rear cockpit, and the rudder controls are smooth to operate. For all the reasons given above, that's why many tour operators seem to choose them.
Hope that's some food for thought. Cheers Mal
