What to watch for when buying a second hand fiberglass canoe?

50 is great, but I think you are unlikely to find a fibreglas boat of any size and quality at that weight. Allow up to 60 or even 65. For a large canoe, fibreglas can reach 72 or so, but that is usually about it.

Reason I responded was to point out balance if oyu are planning to portagfe the thing. Br prepared to move the yok if it is not balanced (or carry paddles and stuff on it to balance it out). Hard to carry an unbalanced canoe.

And these should actually work (not leak).
