Not too far from the Mt. Fork River in Broken Bow, Oklahoma(http://www.oklahomaroadtrips.com/Broken-Bow-mt- fork.htm) is the longer, less traveled Kiamichi River near Antlers, Oklahoma.

The Kiamichi River flow depends on recent rains, so call the one outfitter on the river before making the drive. The Lower Mt. Fork river at Broken Bow is a short bit of paddling, but quite fun. More importantly, it runs most of the time at Class II speed due to being down river from a hydroelectric dam .
