Friends and I are planning to kayak the French River from Yesterday's Resort, down the Main Channel, then West Channel, then Cross Channel, Outer Fox, Fox Bay and East Outlet back to Yesterday's Resort over about 6 days. There are portages of 20M, 50M and a 240M boardwalk. Has anyone tried this or a similar trip in a kayak? My kayak weighs 66 ibs. I am concerned about carrying it, even with help. I can use a commercial small-wheeled cart. Would that help or is it too rugged? Would I be better in a canoe? Any help, advice would be appreciated. I don't live in the area and have never seen the river.

Marg, personally I have never seen that river also but just wanted to welcome you to the forum

Sounds like an exciting peddle...
