Not sue about the Walden Scout but I have a Walden Vista Expedition and the seat is comfy for me.

I've seen pads you can buy that are adhesive and stick to the kayak's seat at REI. Say 1/2' thick. Haven't used them, so can't tell you much about pros and cons.

Thanks for the advice. Tried out and bought an Old Town Loon 138 and found it very comfortable.
