Does anybody have experience with touring kayaks fitted with sails?

Although I have been in love with my Perception Vizcaya for 3 years, I recently read a book about sailing 'Voyage for Madmen' and I am hooked. However, sailing is REALLY expensive. I decided to buy, sight unseen, a Pacific action kayak sail as a compromise (okay, the truth is there is no way my wife will let me buy a sail boat - this is all I can hope for right now...). I think it may work out okay - I'm just wondering how often these things cause one to capsize. It seems like it might be difficult to manage the sail as well as brace when needed - I finally have my roll down, but I'm not sure I can pull it off with a big old sail dragging me under!

See: http://www.pacificaction.co.nz/ It's about $200 - the price of a really good paddle!

I'm sure this is a little odd, so I'm not expecting a huge number of posts, so I'll post a little report once I get the sail in and try it out.

I have a Spirit Sail from www.spiritsails.com (page sometimes loads slowly) a Canadian company on Vancouver Island. I quite like mine, although I haven't used it a lot...

Try a high performance kite and a leaboard.
