Hi. we are white water lovers . . . both canoe and kayak. We are looking for somewhere to go this weekend within a 2-3 hour drive of Toronto that has some white water to play in. We have been to Minden lots of time but are looking for something for a day trip . . . what about the lower Madawaska . . . does anyone know if there is enough water to go for a paddle vs. a drag? We did the Petawawa a few weeks ago both the upper and the lower and it was actually pretty good, but I hear it's pretty low right now.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

I hear the Niagra has some good white water, I could be mistaken though!
In Canada we don't surf, we Canoe!

the madawaska is flowing 7 days a week between 10 pm and 3 pm... actually it is now open all the time because it is the fall... don't take my word for it though
I have run it many times it is a fun run... kinda like the gull only

We were on the Coulonge last weekend, and found it very high. Excellent! I hear from Valley Ventures that the Dumoine is also very good right now.
