I am going to see an Old Towne canoe on Monday. It's fiberglass, 15'8" and approximately 7 or 8 yrs old according to the owner. He says it's in really good shape, and comes with paddles. Willing to sell for $150. I want it for paddling on our 2 acre pond and also some day trips on easy float rivers nearby with my teenagers on weekends. Anybody have any idea if this sounds like a good deal and appropriate use for this size canoe? Is this considered a short, long, or medium length? I will be looking over it's condition & features but am not sure this is the right size canoe for us. We've only paddled aluminum rentals before on small rivers. thanks all
