kit.

I use it only 2 weeks in a year, and the rest of the season I decided to rent.

100 dollars per week plus deposit.

Wow, that's pretty steep!

I just bought a used canoe in perfect condition for $700. Paying $100 for one week seems like a lot of $.

Note to regulars...I'm not giving up my kayak, just wanted to have something available for guests to use. But maybe also so Julie and I can do some Algonquin routes in future where frequent portages are required.

Hmm, maybe good for short trips, but I sure wouldn't want to be in a Kayak from Matice to Moosinee. Not enough space for the good food, and all the camping extras. Might be okay for a weekend, but not a long trip

You might be surprised how much a kayak can hold. The storage areas on my kayak amount to 120 gallons (445 L). If that's not enough for you, you can store lots of additional items in dry bags on the deck rigging. Many sea kayakers engage in very long expiditions over distances and waters that a canoeist could only dream of.

By the way, one more point in David's favour, this is the Canoe-Kayak news group, not the Kayak-Canoe news group.

We know. We are getting along.

No, but your personal elitist personality is attempting to do so right now.

'Canoe rentals are an inexpensive $8.00 an hour per canoe and all safety equipment, P.F.D.s and paddles are included.'
