Anybody have any idea as to if a folding kayak can handle a class I or II river? In terms of maneuverability and rolling etc. Any suggestions on a good folding kayak that might fit the bill?

I am in the midst of sorting through the hundreds of options in purchasing a kayak.

Thanks Harsh W.

Yes a folding kayak can handle a class II rapid, if the paddler is competent. (I paddled the Allagash River in Maine with my Klepper) However unless you REALLY need the folding capability you will pay a LOT more for a folding kayak than a rigid. The cheapest would be in the $2500-3000 range and then they go up from there. Not the kind of craft you want to take too many chances wrapping around a rock on the river! Cheers, Will
