Just a few notes on a recent run downthe Coulonge
It was raining all weekend and the weather was not going to give us much of a break. We started out at Lac Jim and stayed there for the night. If you are ever interested, its OK for a night but dont expect a five, three or two star resort. Its basic sleeping and the whole are is run by a generator so when it is shut down for the night so is the heat !!! Anyways it rained cats and dogs on us but the kids never really complained. It was their first white water introduction. If anyone is thinking of bringing kids, this is a great learning river, I had never done it before and I can recommend it to anyone with kids. My only recommendation is to pick a nice hot sunny week when you can afford to get real wet ( if you swamp the canoe) and then you dont have to worry about being wet and cold the rest of the trip. I think I whined and complained more than the kids!!! Guess Im showing my age !!
