The Canadian Canoe Museum's prognosis is improving.
The museum store is open (just in time for holiday shopping) and there are plans to have the displays open to the public in the near future.
By the way, the big birch bark canoe was finished, launched and damaged on rocks during its maiden voyage.

If they did have insurance the underwriters may not pay out the claim if the vessel was not operated by qualified operators.
