Hi Doug, welcome here
Are you planning to build on conventional schematics or add in some personal adjustments?

Conventional. I am planning on sticking pretty close to plans for my first one. My first phase is completed, that is cleaning the garage. Next phase, clean the basement which is where my kayak shop will be.

Well we have kayaking on the Jordan river which can be pretty nice because of the currents and there is a LOT of kayaking at sea. I will enclose a photo I took so you can get a picture of how it looks like:

How's kayaking where you are situated?

These pics are from Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes. Very deep and very cold water. Awesome vistas tho.

It is always cold here it seems!! But that is ok. Some of our other Great Lakes are not as cold as Superior. But Superior is our deepest and lagest. It acts like an ocean at times.

Like an ocean and thus more challenging to kayak on, right?

Yes, very true. I have to be careful, because I certainly am not an expert. But most areas are pretty shallow and I stick pretty close to shore.
