As a novice, what would be the best kayak type to get to be able to go on a river, bay and ocean. I can't afford many types of kayaks so I need to get one type fits all purposes.
Thanks,

Prior message has good advice. I would if there is a kayak club in your area, that you join. Members are truly helpful and your usually can try their boats out to see what FITS you and what handles well. Lots of different designs and styles. Cheaper poly boats do fuzz up with wear where harder shells avoid that problem. The club people may also have a line on a great boat in the used category.
Good luck.
