Hi,

Does anyone have any thoughts on which would be a better small lake tandem kayak. I'm considering the Perception 'Keowee III' or the Old Town 'Twin Otter.'

It's just for my wife & I and we are beginners. We live on a small lake (about 200 acres) and just want a good general purpose tandem kayak.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks, John

I bought an Old Town Loon 138T several months ago. I absolutely love it and would not consider anything other than Old Town. Quality seemed much better than the other brands.

Only regret is that it is still a bit too heavy to handle alone, and paddling tandem with my kids can be, well, unnerving. Had I known that they would have taken to it so well so quickly, I would have bought two smaller, lighter singles instead. If possible, rent one and try it
